Dr. Ahrendsen is a good AME however the Iowa Specialty Hospital and Clinics was very dishonest with their billing. When I scheduled my medical they told me it was $125. I paid that at check-in. I had conversations with both the receptionist and Dr. Ahrendsen about how I was there for a medical and not a wellness exam. They billed it to my insurance as a wellness exam anyway. This cost me an additional $400 that didn’t get deposited into my HSA for the next year because I didn’t actually get a wellness exam. I gave them one more chance because they told me I should have a $125 credit due to insurance paying them for a wellness. The second time I got a bill for $450. When I called them on it they told me that a medical is $250 and the EKG is $200. I told them that is over twice the amount I’ve ever heard of anyone paying and I wouldn’t be back.
